symptom
The work symptom is my response to the COVID-19 pandemic as a prolonged and ongoing condition. I focus on sites and situations shaped by the pandemic that have, directly or indirectly, influenced both my own lived experience and the broader social reality since its onset.
Drawing from personal observations and experiences, the work establishes multiple visual registers and layers of meaning. It was important to me to find a way to locate myself in that uncertain time — to make personal experience visible — while also creating a space for reflection on how society at large responded to the crisis. The form of the work serves as a means to preserve a position, a stance.
